Pan-American plays: Ronaldinho carried the flame
The Brazilian footballer of the FC Barcelona Ronaldinho carried the flame of the plays Panaméricains (13 July 29 in Rio), Friday at the time of his passage by the town of Porto Alegre (southern).
Vêtu of white and permanently raising a smile, Ronaldinho traversed part of its birthplace with the torch before arriving at the stage of Beira Rio where it lit a basin.
“It is a great honor for me, especially because it is about my city, declared “Ronnie”. I am very moved, it is one very special moment for me.”
The flame of the Panaméricains plays was lit on June 11 by the Brazilian president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and must traverse 42 cities through the own territory representing the 42 countries of the continent which take part in the competition. (AFP)
